About Hurtle Music Studio
Hurtle Music Studio is my home studio. I started recording my own songs (very badly) late in 2003 when
I acquired my first multitrack recording software program. I started recording the songs
of other local songwriters here in 2004. The studio computer was initially in my bedroom but
I eventually moved the bed to my living room and dedicated my single bedroom to the studio.
Work in the studio has escalated over the years.
I have learned a thing or two and upgraded my hardware and software as I can afford it.
The studio, website and label
are called "Hurtle" in memory of our little Jack Russel cross companion for nearly fifteen years.
She used to welcome all the artists and sat behind me on my studio chair while I
recorded them.
I have set up this page so you can listen to audio samples of artists who record their
original songs here - George Paul, Darryl Bisset, Jack Gielen, Le Pan,
Lola Jamieson, Rowayne, Te Huia and Dogs of Babylon. (Samples will be uploaded over time.)
There is also an album of original blues/rock songs by Mark Kneebone.
Mark did the
recording with his own gear and the drum tracks and final mix were done here at Hurtle.
The 'Dogs of Babylon' heavy metal/hard rock project features the lyrics of Greg Swann,
and music by vocalist Logan Nathan and guitarist J.T.Samuels.
Guitarist Nick Hart is the most recent addition to the project.
The Pan (also known as Le Parne or Pangellucus) recorded his first album "Pied Piper" here at Hurtle Studio.
His second album "Key of Music Alchemy" was mostly recorded at Stebbings studio in Auckland.
Both albums and his single "Oh What a Joy is Love" can be found on Spotify and other music apps.
His artist name was The Pan on his first album. His later recordings are under the artist name
Pangellucus and the Wholley Graelle.
